他者とは共有できない郷愁、曖昧だが消えることのないノスタルジアへと導く音楽や文学がある。個人的かつ逃避的になることでしか思い出せない場所と時間がある。その記憶とは何の関係もないはずの特定の音楽やその他の芸術が、なぜそれを思い出させるのだろうか。日本で生まれ育った著者がどうしてか英国の伝統的なモノたちに惹かれる理由とは？こうして自身の霊的な記憶のバンクに手を突っ込んでみることになった。その鍵は次の通り。イギリスのGhost Box、前衛的なミューザック、アメリカの神秘的なフォーク・ムーブメント、90年代から00年代前半に遊んだいくつかのゲーム、その他超自然的な不安と安らぎをもたらすもの。私は再び幽霊を取り戻そうとした。

2000年代半ばに英国で立ち上げられたGhost Box Recordsのヴィジョンは、第二次大戦後の英国が持っていた（そしてマーガレット・サッチャー政権による新自由主義的方針によって淘汰されていった）ユートピア的思想が反映されたリベラル色の強い（そしてどこか奇妙な）文化的土壌に基づいている。レーベルは公共放送やライブラリ音楽の持つ奇妙なムード、異教文化とテクノロジーが交錯したSF番組、ペンギンブックスのペーパーバックなどについての個人的な記憶が音楽やアートワークへとして出力していく。その過去に準拠する精神性は、マーク・フィッシャーらによって憑在論（hauntology）という概念づけをされた。日本の音楽ジャーナリズムにおける憑在論は、レイヴ・カルチャーの喪失を想うBurialやKode9に向けられがちであり、Ghost Boxら郊外派についてはあまり取り沙汰されてこなかった。彼らの音楽はキッチュなノスタルジーとして受容されがちだが、そうした消費的態度の産物ではない。この薄暗い夢想の音楽たちは、現代を輪郭づける市場主義に払拭された過去の記憶をもって、延長され続ける現在から闘争的に逃避するものなのである。

Today is a part of time when even nostalgia has been capitalized. However, there are vague but indelible images in my mind from my childhood, it can be said as isolation. Why do specific music and other arts, which should have nothing to do with the memories, remind me of it?
Suikazura releases a book of my spiritual memory bank. The keys are following: A British haunted boutique, Ghost Box label, Avant-Garde Muzak, American free-folk movement, some video games I played in the 90s, haunted animations or cosmic horror novels. I tried again to bring back my ghost.
